American Girl Store has a yearly event they call “Dinner With Dad”.  So Jon surprised Saylor yesterday by taking her to this special luncheon!  The store is located in an awesome outdoor shopping center which also has a movie theater.  So Raimy and I rode with them and had a special date of our own.  Before we left, Raimy flew out of the house dressed as Captain America.  Not a rarity…hahaha.  Yes I had already had him dressed as a normal child….. Oh well…go for it Raim.  Wish I could dress as Wonder Woman whenever I felt like it… after all I do feel like her at times… maybe tomorrow…
We went and saw “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”.  I had been told this movie was a little slow but it was the only one he could actually see:)  It ended up being a sweet little treat.  For many reasons this film was super emotional for me…(post to follow).  Raimy cracked up at many parts and he actually understood the story.
The Grove was crowded and Raimy really stood out..hahaha….I now know what it feels like to walk around with a superstar.  Everyone took pictures as he posed like a crime fighter!

How How How have 2 years gone by!!

My baby Renn just turned 2!!!  We spent the day at Disneyland. We had some family and friends join us and it was a magical day:)  If you ever go to Disney I highly recommend the character breakfast.  As you sit you are literally BOMBARDED by every character while eating.  The kids flipped out..of course…  Rennix went crazy over Minnie.  She cried “Peeze Minnie Wait, Peeze, Peeze!” over and over again as Minnies handler pulled her away.  Her stuffed Minnie is now loved even more.  I don’t think any stuffed animal in history has received so many kisses!!

I’m in shock that this tiny button is officially a toddler!!!

1 day old

thanks Karen Nadalin for this ADORABLE shot!
Taking a break after dancing all her energy out:)
Uncle Tyler and Rennix- wearing the Langseth birthday girl hat…oh traditions…and yes I did get the silhouette from Main Street made as well,  but I didn’t get a picture:)
Saylor, Auntie Ash, Uncle Ty and Raimy
I wonder if she’s having fun

The fam with Goofy
Batman joined us
The matching fairies:)
Only picture I got of all 3 of them.  Hahaha
Sisters

Crashed before the fireworks and somehow slept through the show!!!

Happy Birthday my sweet baby!  I love you my spunky, opinionated, independent and hysterical tiny bear!!!  I adore everything about you!  I am so thankful you are mine:)

So there is a web publication called SMITH magazine.  In 2006 the editor (Insprired by Ernest Hemingway’s shortest of short stories) Larry Smith challenged his readers to describe their lives in six words.  The contest was meant to only last a month but to this day readers are still adding their mini-memoirs!

I figured this would be a fun opportunity to get to know some of you better!!  In the comments feel free to add your own 6 word memoir:)  MAKE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR NAME:)  I want to know who wrote what!
Here are a few of examples of what people have written:
Starting with Hemingway- “For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn”
“Might as well eat that cookie”- Paula Deen
“Life gives lemons but no juicer”- Jordan Miller, 22
“Still fit into high school earrings”- Kimberly Kilroy, 55
“Recipe for failure.  Changed my ingredients”- Antonee Boykin, 30
“Sorry I’m not married yet, Mom”- Julie Blattberg, 42
“Loving heart for sale, Like new” Rosanne Carey, 55
“Former doc now wears art smock”- Amy Harrison, 35
How cool, right??!!

IF YOU HAVE EMAILED ME I WILL REPOST IN THE COMMENTS SO EVERYONE CAN READ IT:)

Oh Pinterest…you’ve given me so many experiments to try with the kids… How I love thee…

Remember that slimy play dough like stuff called Gak and Flubber?  Well, we made it today with stuff I already had in the kitchen!  Easy Peasy!  I used a recipe I found from Steve Spangler Science (which by the way has a sign-up to receive a weekly science experiment by email… more projects to follow!)

In one mixing bowl combine 8 oz of Elmers glue and 8 oz of warm water.  Here is the part where you could add food coloring or Kool Aid mix(for color) or keep it white.  I used Wiltons gel cake coloring just because it is WAY more vibrant than normal food coloring.  The kids chose green for our first batch.

In another bowl mix 1/2 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon of Borax.  Stir until it is dissolved.  Borax should not be used by the kids…but I figured if I keep an eye on them and have them wash there hands after it would be ok.  There are Borax-free recipes out there I just didn’t have the proper ingredients on hand.

If only I had sound to accompany these pics of Renn!  The twins were yelling “Babies first pour!!!  You’re a big girl now baby!!!!” -at the top of there ecstatic lungs!!  hahaha
Slowly add the Borax mixture to the glue bowl while stirring.  It will immediately thicken into a slimy substance

Poor Renn got stuck playing with edible play dough.  I mixed it to be the same color…she wasn’t convinced.  (Amazing painting in the background is from Raimy’s very first time using paint…one of my most treasured items)
Saylor made her slime into jewelry…what a girl.

All in all a very fun project that kept them interested for hours!!!  I am going to try the non-toxic recipe after a visit to the store..I’ll let you know if it’s as good:)
