Uh Oh.  Someone got a giant freezer.  Days of bulk cooking are ahead of me.  Maybe then jarring and canning…oh wait I don’t know how to do that!  Mom-Help me with my stock pile.  Gonna go out in the country and jack me a cow.

Freezer full of food.
Garden full of veggies.
Trees full of fruit.

Oops I don’t have to go to the grocery for a while:)  Is it sad that this is super satisfying?  Hahaha!

Send me some make ahead freezer recipes y’all!

Jonny, for a while now, has said that our baby Renn’s head always smells like chemicals.  What in the world?  I use Allen’s Detergent which is basically water.  I clean with chemical free everything.  I am a bit of a freak about stuff like this…  Than I saw a book called Sleep Safe in a Toxic World by Walter Bader.  Now if you ever want to have a good night’s sleep again, DON’T read this book!  Seriously.

It basically teaches you about all the horrible things in mattresses.  I never knew….  I looked up the companies of the mattresses I was using for the kids and was surprised to find they ALL have formaldehyde, VOC’s, Pesticides, Fungicides, Herbicides among other yummy ingredients!  That is disgusting!  I’ve had my kids inhaling roach killer for the majority of their lives.

After TONS of research, (I’m a bit of a freak that way!) I believe the best company out there is Lifekind(online company), the same company who makes OMI (you can find in some stores) mattresses.  I am in no way connected to this company.  I just really think they go above and beyond all companies.   They are expensive but last forever, have a great warranty and are resistant to dust mites.

Baby Renn already received hers last week and it has already made a major difference.  Her chemical smell which has ALWAYS been on her head is gone.  All the bedding is so soft and silky.  I feel really great putting her to bed now:)

The twins new beds will ship soon and I am happy that we will be rid of major chemical bombs in our home.

Not to be preachy or “buy what I buy!”- I just didn’t know the mattress industry is so disgusting.  I wish I had known sooner…so thought I’d share.  We spent a third of our lives in bed and we are inhaling and absorbing all that nastiness.  So I think it is a good investment….

Any big changes you guys have made that the rest of us might not have heard of?

Woo Woo!

I am beyond excited!  I just had Karen G. from GroOrganic out for a consultation.  For years I have wanted to start an organic garden.  In my dream it’s gigantic and I feed my family morning noon and night from it, yet still have enough to send out giant baskets of food to everyone I know on a weekly basis.  So being that I don’t have 10 acres….I’ll start with a few raised beds and feeding just my fam….for the moment:)  The chickens are next my sweets:)  Oh…..then the cows, goats, sheep, pigs and possibly some alpaca….then my bomb shelter…never leaving my property…stocking up on weapons….saving up for my apocalypse fighter tank….hahahaha!

I had GroOrganic out a few years ago and have been longing ever since to get my garden started with them, but we were rebuilding.  But now that we are finished… the world is my oyster:)  Now you guys know- I am not claiming to have any skills in the garden and am the first to admit I can’t do it alone:)  So GroOrganic is perfect for me.  They come out,  get you planted- start to finish (raised beds, irrigation and all!) and then you can choose to have them also help maintain your beds.  So there really is no excuse for me NOT to do it.  I’d love to eventually have the kids and I learn how to maintain it ourselves but an assisted garden is STILL my family garden:)

I went shopping for veggie stew ingredients last night and walked out of Sprouts having spent WAY more than anticipated on organic produce.  So in the long run…this will save my family money.

I will post pics as we go….

Hmmm….My amazing garden must have an amazing name.  Any suggestions?

Yes Yes it’s been a while!  I’ve been having ‘finally get home and put the kids to bed only to fall asleep while reading to them’ days!  Any post would have been a delirious, crying about not enough hours in the day, someone come over and let me sleep, wah poor me, rant.  Hahaa…not quite…but close….

So we’ve been busy…not doing anything productive really…but fun.  This is my favorite time of the year.  All the pumpkin patches start to open, the fall festivals, the petting zoos, the everything at restaurants apple and pumpkin infused…mmmmmm.  The weather starts to cool.
You know I’ve been on the course to become “that mom” I’ve always dreamed of.  The kind you all know of!  The one who decorates for every holiday and always has something good cooking and a treat in the oven.  And you know that I’ve said- all that keeps me from being ‘her’ is- me and my laziness.
So here I am with laziness behind me (and by behind me, I mean hanging from my shoulders begging me to come home and snuggle).  I am fighting to turn a new leaf.  A new year, new me blah blah blah.  It’s all I’ve been writing about.  hahaha.  I am actually enjoying myself.  I decided we woud decorate for fall.  Packed up the kids to The Decor Store in Moorpark, Ca. (which, if you are in socal is an amazing holiday decor place with amazing coupons and great stuff) and Michaels.  I have transformed my abode into a Fall heaven:)  Scarecrows, leaves, orange lights, spiders, crows, pumpkins oh my.  With the kids in tow for help, we have quite the mish mash:)  Although, had they been allowed to make all the decisions, we would have a bloodied corpse with an axe through it’s head, hanging from the rafters of our entryway.  “Mommy wouldn’t he be soooo cute right when you walk in the door?” “Yes, Saylor but mommy wants the decorations to last through till Thanksgiving, so lets steer away from the scary stuff”  “He’s not scary, he’s funny!”.  Yeah kid- let’s see if you still think that when you walk out of your room to pee in the middle of the night and are scarred for life!!!  I’m not into Halloween scary stuff at all.  Cracked me up at how they LOVED it!!
We went to the LA County Fair yesterday.  Which is by far one of my favorite yearly traditions.  I look forward to it all year.  We always hit the giant barn that makes me long for my farm in the middle of nowhere, where the kids roam the land…aaaaahhhhh.  Saylor is so great with animals…I call her the goat whisperer:)  They literally crowd around her and she gives them each a turn.  She hugs and kisses them and they look her in the eye like they understand her and love her.  So cute.  She squealed at the baby pigs and wanted to take “1 baby goat, 1 baby pig, lots of chickens and the mama cow” that snuggled into her and licked her head, home with her.  Who knew cows were affectionate?  This one followed her and put its giant head on her shoulder and literally kept kissing her head:)
They rode there first ferris wheel with daddy while Renn and I watched on.
We ate the usual…fried everything, turkey legs, churros.
My sister and Tyler came with us.  The usual group:)  My best friends, my loves, my sweet family.  All in all an amazing day.
Hey anyone live near Detroit Michigan by any chance?
