As some of you know, (and some of you have already generously donated) Jonny and I have teamed up with Feed America to try and raise $5000 by the end of the year.  The link to our virtual food drive is lang family virtual food drive or you can click the link “I dare you to click here” over on the left hand side:)  Please know, 100% of the money goes to Feed America.  They are an amazing organization and I encourage you to research their website.  There are so many ways we all can help locally as well.  I also wanted to notify you of some partnerships they have made:

I’m going to start a section called Cool New Inventions at some point(uh if I can figure out how!).  But until then…here’s a find I must share with you:)

A Dutch company called NXP Semiconductors recently introduced technology that connects bulbs over wifi!  The Greenchip smart lighting technology will allow every lightbulb in your home to have it’s own IP address, where you can then monitor and control from any internet device!!!  How was this not thougt of sooner?  I think this is amazing.  Hmmm, I might need to buy some shares in this new company….  How could this NOT take off!

So as I’m sure I’ll share with you later- Jon and I tried for years to have kids….

When you want kids so badly, all you do is talk about these future babies.  I think we dealt with every possible scenario and what we would do about it, in these conversations.  How we would discipline was a big one.  We dreamed up every naughty thing a kid could do and talked about what we would do in that situation!!  Sounds crazy, I know, but it has come in handy now that we actually have kids!  So as a joke, during one of these conversations I mentioned that anytime one of the ‘kids’ was angry, I would send him to the ‘anger easel’.  We cracked up about how this kid would take out his frustrations with an amazingly artistic painting, flailing his brushes about in dramatic movements while yelling and crying.  We would then frame and hang these masterpieces on the ‘Wall of Anger”!!  We have joked about implementing the Anger Easel since they were babies!

So ladies and gents, I am proud to introduce you to (the newly built by yours truly) Anger Easel!!!

“Sorry kid, I don’t want to hear it!  Take it to the Easel!!”

Can I just say that I am LOVING this summer!

This is not something you usually hear from me because I HATE the heat.  I’m paler than a bleached white sheet and burn if I sit in the shade plus, I overheat and get loopy if I’m outside too long!  Therefore you will usually find me sitting in front of the air conditioner vent and complaining if it’s 80 degrees or higher.

But this summer has been a pleasant surprise!  We’ve had such an amazing family time these last few weeks.  On a whim last Wednesday we packed up the old van and headed to the ranch!  My family has had an amazing ranch in the family since I was young.  None of us have been there though in years!  I mentioned it in passing and Jon said “let’s go right now!”…..and we did.  The drive used to take 3 hours without kids….the stopping to let the kids pee added and hour and a half!  haha.  But I love long drives.  We get to talk for hours on end while the kids veg in the back and watch Tangled or Superhero Hour for the billionth time.

The greatest thing about the ranch is that even an hour before you arrive your phones don’t work.  No phones, no internet, no TV’s.  5 days unplugged….aaaahhhhmazing.

The kids fished for the first time, slept in bunk beds for the first time, made s’mores around a campfire for the first time, hiked until they couldn’t walk, swam, helped daddy BBQ and blew so many bubbles off the front porch it will most likely be soaked for days:)

We met an adorable family at the campfire on our last night- Coincidentally named The Lang’s!  They had a guitar and we all sang together, stuffed ourselves with s’mores and talked about traveling the world.  Again coincidentally…the mama of theses 3 beautiful girls mentioned how she home-schooled them.  Funny how when you start to ponder an idea- God throws a bunch of info your way:)

Anyways- this is the reason I have not written in a few….

My Love

They got ahold of the art supplies and gave themselves full body tattoos!
