Many years ago while my sister was shooting in New Orleans, she and my mom met a family of street performers known as “the Sardines”. ***read about them from my mom’s blog***  Mom eventually got them to come home with her.  Which, if you know my mom is not surprising…she has always brought strangers home who become part of our family.  So anyways, one of the sons, Orion who was around 14 or 15 hung out with us.  He was one of the most precious little guys I had ever met.  We all instantly fell in love with him and later with his whole family.  We have stayed very close over the years and they have been out to visit us a bunch of times.  When the twins were first born they came and spent Christmas with all of us.  I can’t speak enough of how special this family is.  I adore all of them.

Orion is now grown up and 23 years old.  He came out from San Fran a couple weeks ago, where he is in Circus school.  He played with the twins and taught them some ‘tricks’.  They have talked about him EVERYDAY since!  Raimy does hands stands against the wall all day long and yells “look at me!!!! I’m like Uncle Ryan!”  So finally I have enrolled them into gymnastics.  They had their first lesson this week.  So Orion has brought a new love into their lives and I hope they continue to have so much fun!

Here is Saylor standing on Orion’s hands as he bench pressed her!

Here she is learning to balance as he lifts her high in the air:)
Miss you Sardines!

Somehow when I was around 15 years old my friends and I found ourselves at a party which we later found out was Marilyn Manson’s.  This was not by choice mind you.  We were the most straight laced kids really!!  haha.  But anyways it was at this abandoned warehouse.  The only things in the warehouse were refrigerators stuffed to the brim and spilling out apples oranges and bananas. There were insane laser lights everywhere and no chairs or anything else to eat or drink.  Just random fridges with fruit and a fog machine on steroids.  We were laughing at the strange people packing the place, dancing like idiots and we wondered -however did we find ourselves here?

All of a sudden we saw riot police officers through the windows with shields completely surrounding the place.  The last thing I heard before screaming, was my friend (who drove us) say “Your mother is going to kill me” and then panic broke out.  People started running, screaming, pushing and freaking out .  Then suddenly everyone dropped to the ground except me….I thought they had all been shot and killed, if not for the moaning.  I walked my way over the crowd and out the front door.  “Hi officer, I don’t know how I got here or what is going on, but my mother is going to kill me.  I need to find a pay phone.”  They let me out and I waited for my friends who were released a while later.  I made a call to my mom and told her to watch the news, she asked why and I explained I was coming home and would tell her all about it.

Turns out the place had been tear gassed!  The cops told me that a small percentage of people are immune to it and I am one of those talented beings.  Another reason why I’d have been the greatest criminal!!  The cops got a kick out of it and actually stayed talking with me and my buddies.  They even let me talk them into ‘arresting’ me in front of the news cameras.  They pushed me on the hood of their cop car, it was awesome.  I thought how funny it would be if my mom saw me get arrested… she would flip out.  But she didn’t see me…bummer.  Wish there had been Tivo then, that would have been the greatest footage to have and show my kids.  My friends did get a pic of me getting arrested and if I ever find it I will post it!

Have a great day guys!  Don’t get tear gassed.  Apparently it is extremely painful!  haha

All my kids share a room.  Some people think this is weird and have a problem with it but you know what I don’t care.  They love being together and really comfort one another.  Maybe it’s because I have lived so much of my life either on a boat or a tour bus, but I think family always works best when your crammed together.  Your siblings are the first people you learn to tolerate, share with, deal with and learn to find common and middle ground with.  What better way then to have to learn to deal with them 24/7 before being tossed out in the cold real world.  I don’t know I could be crazy…but it worked with me pretty well!  I was looking at bunk beds the other day and came across some of the most amazing bedrooms I’ve ever seen!  I would have freaked when I was little to have one of these as my room!!  .  So I might steal one of these ideas…..  Which is your favorite?
