So proud of my girl…
So we were watching a video for the charity “Locks for Love”. If you have ‘virgin’ hair thats over 10 inches long…you can cut it off and send it in to be made into a wig for a sick child. Saylor wanted to do it for a while but had to grow her hair out longer. She hit the 10 inch mark a few months ago but I got sad at the idea of cutting it off. I know I know…it’s just hair no big deal! But it’s still my babies hair… She has had only one trim in her life. If you’re a mom you know that a first cut is sad for some reason… Anyways…so I’m a horrible person because I told her it wasn’t long enough when she asked to cut it…about 50 times.
She asked me the other day if we could go to the salon and I said no. “Mommy, there is a little girl waiting for my hair!” Aaaannnddd stab in my selfish heart:) “Get in the car quickly before I change my mind!!” Loaded up all the kids and forced my friend Stephan and mom to join me for moral support.
I didn’t know that most salons offer free cuts if you are donating your hair and also mail it in for you…so easy. My tiny was filled with pride and hopefully will inspire her friends to do the same!
With this short hair I call her the cartoon version of herself! Her extremely animated expressions are now not covered by a huge head of hair. She is hysterical!!! I’d dare to say it has even brought her out of her shell a little more!
Good girl Peachy!!!!
Her hair looks adorable! What an awesome gift for her to give!
I know what you mean about the hair cut. My wee one is almost 3 and has hair to the middle of her back, and I can't bring myself to even trim it! The tiny ends are the hair she was born with for goodness sake!
so awesome! i did the same thing 2 years ago. it feels wonderful knowing that it's going to someone in need. what an amazing little one you have! you go girl! *high five*
What a wonderful gift. The giving spirit in one so young is very heart warming.

PS. Besides the fact that she looks absolutely darling with short hair!
Awww! What a little sweet heart! She looks so cute, of course.
Once again… us, too! Abby has been talking about it for months! It's not even her first haircut. I just like fixing it all fancy. 🙁 Selfish, selfish, selfish. I bought myself a little time by telling her we'd do it after her birthday party since she wouldn't be able to have Princess Leia buns for her birthday party (knots actually since her hair is thin). Her birthday party is in a week and a half, soooo… this is happening soon.
Amazing, some little girl out there is so going to be so blessed to have her hair. And Saylor is so adorable with her new haircut!!
Aww, your kids have such kind hearts! Definitely reflect on you and Jonny's parenting, and your big hearts too! That was so sweet of her.

Thanks:)
I love it!
oohh! Can't wait to see pictures!! Let me just say…I loved doing all the hairdo's but man alive is short hair EASY!!!!
🙂 I think so too! I love it!
It would be cool if you could get a tracking number or something and see how it was used and who it went to. Wonder how many heads of hair go into one wig…
I KNOW!!! Glad someone agrees!! She had her bangs trimmed but the fresh baby ends were still there:(
i sent the hair in myself so i could write a letter asking if they could tell me where it went. they didn't respond =( i guess that would be kind of hard..
Oh my, this just made my day!
Dear Saylor,
What a beautiful littl girl you are inside and out!
Your new hair cut couldn't be cuter, and to think your heart is just as gorgeous!
Thank you for teaching me that we can choose to be beautiful at any age, (despite the war of the wrinkles)!
Good Girl!
Connie
And tell your Mom she's pretty special to let you be who you are even at the cost of that first curl (!)
Haylie, My daughter had hair to her bottom, when she got it cut it was also donated…as a mom I cried…very emotional! I fought her on it for a long time… What a caring and giving brave little girl Saylor is…your actually teaching her to accept change in a way. She looks so cute with short hair and your time in the mornings fixing it will be shortened about 15 minutes. Daddies usually have a hard time with this as well.

A lot of the hair is sold, or made into extensions.
That's true because a lot of the people who donate have treated hair. They have to use hair that has never been colored. They seem to be a reputable charity from the kids we've met who have been given beautiful wigs… If not it's still a great lesson for any child who donates…:)
Yes the mornings are amazing. Her hair is so stick straight she doesn't even need to brush it!! haha! And true statement about the daddies…:)
So Sweet. She looks adorable with the short hair. And I bet it's a lot easier to manage! We did this once with Ella's hair. She couldn't get it long enough for locks of love so we sent it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths Program. Love these girls.
Flipin' amazing! Way to go Peaches!
Eddie says, "Yay! good for her! I can't wait til I get to do mine!" He's got wild, curly locks and he started growing it last year around this time for the same reason. 🙂
Oh my goodness, she is a DOLL! 🙂
How precious! I just cried! My two sisters and I have all done it, and are in the process of growing out again. It's such a beautiful gift to give someone! Way to go, Saylor! 🙂
