Can I just say that I am LOVING this summer!
This is not something you usually hear from me because I HATE the heat. I’m paler than a bleached white sheet and burn if I sit in the shade plus, I overheat and get loopy if I’m outside too long! Therefore you will usually find me sitting in front of the air conditioner vent and complaining if it’s 80 degrees or higher.
But this summer has been a pleasant surprise! We’ve had such an amazing family time these last few weeks. On a whim last Wednesday we packed up the old van and headed to the ranch! My family has had an amazing ranch in the family since I was young. None of us have been there though in years! I mentioned it in passing and Jon said “let’s go right now!”…..and we did. The drive used to take 3 hours without kids….the stopping to let the kids pee added and hour and a half! haha. But I love long drives. We get to talk for hours on end while the kids veg in the back and watch Tangled or Superhero Hour for the billionth time.
The greatest thing about the ranch is that even an hour before you arrive your phones don’t work. No phones, no internet, no TV’s. 5 days unplugged….aaaahhhhmazing.
The kids fished for the first time, slept in bunk beds for the first time, made s’mores around a campfire for the first time, hiked until they couldn’t walk, swam, helped daddy BBQ and blew so many bubbles off the front porch it will most likely be soaked for days:)
We met an adorable family at the campfire on our last night- Coincidentally named The Lang’s! They had a guitar and we all sang together, stuffed ourselves with s’mores and talked about traveling the world. Again coincidentally…the mama of theses 3 beautiful girls mentioned how she home-schooled them. Funny how when you start to ponder an idea- God throws a bunch of info your way:)
Anyways- this is the reason I have not written in a few….

What great pictures, and what a WONDERFUL reason for being out of touch with phones, computers and technology. Those family times are so precious. This is true happiness. This is so silly…I went to post this and I don't understand what profile to select…maybe I am TOO much out of touch
Looks like paradise! You are a blessed woman!
So I love your blog! and this is completely off topic, I'm 21 and soon my divorce will be over I was married to a military man, and he did some obscene things in our marriage, I'm wondering If u could give me a site or anyone u know about how to move on from it and pick yourself up again ive looked everywhere, thank u Jaime'
Hey girl! It's Jamie Maroney! Love your stuff! The fam is looking amazing. Giggled when I read about your hating the heat. It's soooo me. And Connor! Gayla and Collin are outside doing landscaping and we are inside eating Pop-Ice! Keep in touch. The Maroneys LOVE the Langs!!!
This looks like a great vacation! I love the pix with the trees. I live on the East Coast and have never seen trees of that size!! Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy your summer and your lovely family!
Maroney's!!! We miss you guys!! Hope your doing well!
Jaime- Hi sweetie, I am so sorry for what you are going through. There are so many options for you. Where do you live? There are so many great counselors and therapists out there that deal with moving on. Also, do you go to church? If you do, you should ask your pastor if either he or someone he recommends could be a support system for you. Do you live near your family. They are always my go to for support. Google support groups in your area as well, sometimes talking with people in the same situation can bring you some clariity.
I hope that helped a little…. keep me updated and God bless you:)
HI Baby:
Loved the new blog!! It made me miss the ranch and remember the last time we were there as a family. It's a beautiful place and it makes me want to go back again. Dad would be so happy that you are now sharing it with your family!
Love,
Your Momma

The "other" Langs
Thanks for sharing. What wonderful memories you are making! 🙂
Haylie…I'm loving this!!! So happy for you and Jon and those precious babes!! Nothing like making memories!!!
It's funny that you say you are so pale. When I saw Jonny in concert from the front row for the first time all I could think of was "wow, he's so pale", haha.
I live in the South, so during the summer I wish it was only 80 outside. It's nice to spend some time outdoors close to nature.
