-Just read that the opera singer Andrea Bocelli’s wife just had a baby girl. Hmmmmm reminds me I’ve never revealed my #1 most embarrassing moment in my entire life. And how cool am I? My embarrassing moment involves the world famous Andrea Bocelli! Hahahaha! It’s a long one so I might break it down into a few posts….maybe a video…. It’s gonna take me some time to work up the guts to admit this one. Figured I’d post about it so I have to follow through even if I change my mind tomorrow!!!
-Have any great ideas for citrus? My mom has a bunch of lemon, orange and grapefruit trees. I take home trash bags full to eat, make juice, slice up in water and leave in every room to make the house smell yummy. Searching today for neat recipes and projects involving citrus. If we have an endless amount might as well find cool uses for it….right?
Today I’m going to try:
Lemon Sugar Scrub
I’m going to experiment to find a good mixture of lemon juice, sugar, olive oil and coconut oil. Hoping that the coconut oil, if used sparingly, will not solidify but add a sweet smell to the mix. I’ll let you know how it goes……
UPDATE-
I mixed 1 cup olive oil with 1 1/2 cups sugar. But even with the juice from 2 huge lemons it still only smells like olive oil. It still is an amazing hand scrub for next to the kitchen sink and it doesn’t leave you smelling like olives…I’d just like it to leave behind a nice scent as well:) Gonna try a different oil next time….. I’m sure if you used essential oils it would work but I’m still trying to figure out a use for these lemons:)
I can't wait to read about that, will it really top meeting the Bush Family?
And when are you going to tell us how you & Jonny met? 😀
<3 @deepbrowneyes
I can't wait to read about this one too!
Our 3rd child was born to a Bocelli concert as it was being aired over the TV in the delivery room. The Doctor was a HUGE fan, and just a few pushes before the birth he kept watching the @#$% TV!!!
HELLO, CAN YOU PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT'S HAPPENING DOWN BELOW!!!
So, this is a first for me, sharing my blog with a stranger. But I do enjoy your posts, so might as well share my own odd life. Here's a good citrus recipe that worked out well for me:

The pres was nothing compared to this! HAhaha
Thanks! I will check out the recipe and your blog. Thanks for reading mine:)
"Steep" orange peels in white vinegar to make your own cleaning solution!
Basically fill a jar with orange peels, cover with white vinegar, and let sit for about two weeks. Strain the liquid into a spray bottle and add an equal amount of water. Makes a powerful and great smelling cleaner.
Can't wait for the story…
Boil the citrus with some herbs, etc. and make your home smell wonderful (I think you suggested this earlier in the week) and/or cut it up and clean out your garbage disposal.
You can also cut into small pieces and freeze in ice cube trays and add them to drinks to make them a little extra "special". My favorite lemonade recipe (my grandma's) has lemons and oranges in it – try that. For an adult beverage you could make your own limoncello, use the grapefruit for vodka or gin and grapefruit juice.

I'm from Fredericton, NB, am a huge fan of your husband's music and got to see him and the band play last year for the first time. After linking up to his website, I wandered over to your blog. Keep blogging, your stories are hilarious, and you are quite inspirational! We are expecting our third baby, hope I can handle three with the ease and humour that you seem to!
Love to read this
Motherlove More Milk Plus
hahahha thats hysterical!
I'll check it out! Thanks so much.
You're already at chaos with 2…adding 1 to the mix doesn't really change things up! It just gets louder! 🙂 Plus the 3 third is easier because you already know everything and you have helpers!
I love on the first kid we r all "Oh MY GOSH!!! She has a runny nose. Somerhing is majorly wrong!!!" By the third "Ah you didn't need that finger anyway…finish your dinner!"
Thanks for the suggestions:)
oh genius! Right up my alley! Will start this today!
I loved your Tupac story. I can't wait to read your Bocelli story.
I can't wait to hear this story. It seems I have missed a few of your "Famous People" stories but my favorite so far is your Stevie Wonder Story. When, I heard that Stevie Wonder had admitted at Whitney Houston's Funeral that he had a crush on Whitney, all I could think of was your story. 🙂
I found these recipes for dried Orange slices and Dried Candy Lemon Slices. YUM!

Hi Haylie — here is a recipe for Lemon Ice:
4 lemons (1 cup)
1 orange (1/2 cup)
4 cups water
1.5 cups sugar
Juice lemons and orange.
Put water and sugar into saucepan and stir well. Heat over med. heat – boil for 10 minutes. Put water and sugar mixture (sugar syrup) into large mixing bowl.
Pour juice through strainer into sugar syrup. Stir well. Pour the mixture into plastic container and cover. Freeze for several hours.
Use large spoon to scrape shavings off the top of the lemon ice and shape into scoop-size servings.
This is so yummy! The kids will love it, too!
