My sister is my art curator…hahaha kidding. Although she would be amazing at it! She constantly stalks art blogs and sites and always finds gems and has countless times called out a new artist who later blew up!
Anyways she forwarded me a new collection by So Hyun Woo called Cruel Fairytales 3. I have been freaking out showing everyone since. If I were to explain my style of art this would be it. Colossal explains the art as this: Children’s Book Characters Arm Themselves for the looming Fairytale Apocalypse.
Winnie the Pooh, Daffy Duck, Piglet and Tink never looked so good…In my opinion!
Wow.
Steel fluff.
Sophisticated naivete.
Pessimistic optimism.
Oxymoron sculpture!
Very cool.

I don't know what this says about me, but I love the combination of Winnie the Pooh and heavy weaponry.
I haven't been on your site before, but after checking out the art, I noticed your selection menu and clicked the last option (who can resist a cyber-dare?!) After reading it, I found myself wanting to thank you.
I realized recently I'm what they call a "displaced homemaker." A year ago my husband of three decades basically yielded to the worst version of himself. On Christmas evening, my children (there are eight of them, 13 to 30) staged a mini-intervention, telling me it was time to stop the cycle. I knew that, but its hard to jump off a financial cliff, especially when you still have two minor children to take care of and you are severely under-employed.
Anyway, long story short, my food assistance case was delayed recently and I found myself, for the first time, needing the services of the food pantry at my mother's church. Its like a mini grocery store. I really thought it would be a hodge-podge of items, but it was an organized supply of basic foods and I wondered where it had come from. Now I know. And I want to thank you for making others aware of this important charity.
As soon as I'm able, I know where to give.

Paula,
I really appreciate you posting your story! People do not understand how amazing Feed America and food pantry's,banks etc. are, unless you witness them first hand. They are run like a well oiled machine. They can make a dollar into 7 meals!!! That's incredible! God bless you for making such a scary change to better yours and your children's lives. So many woman are in your situation, SAHM with fear of how they would live if they actually left. You are a role model I'm sure to everyone around you. I think it's important as woman to get the info out there, that we all have options and we all deserve to live in happiness and safety. If a woman blindly jumps, there are millions of us, who by doing something as small as donating a few dollars, bind together to become her safety net. That is such an honor.
