So as I’m sure I’ll share with you later- Jon and I tried for years to have kids….
When you want kids so badly, all you do is talk about these future babies. I think we dealt with every possible scenario and what we would do about it, in these conversations. How we would discipline was a big one. We dreamed up every naughty thing a kid could do and talked about what we would do in that situation!! Sounds crazy, I know, but it has come in handy now that we actually have kids! So as a joke, during one of these conversations I mentioned that anytime one of the ‘kids’ was angry, I would send him to the ‘anger easel’. We cracked up about how this kid would take out his frustrations with an amazingly artistic painting, flailing his brushes about in dramatic movements while yelling and crying. We would then frame and hang these masterpieces on the ‘Wall of Anger”!! We have joked about implementing the Anger Easel since they were babies!
So ladies and gents, I am proud to introduce you to (the newly built by yours truly) Anger Easel!!!
What an awesome idea!
Sounds Awesome! Until they learn to spell – then look out! 🙂

So Jamie and I have one of those "When we have a kid" ideas, too. Our is called "Assless Pants". One day we were driving past the local high school here in Seattle when we spotted a cluster of teenage girls wandering about in pajamas and house slippers. We were both wondering how these kids got out of the house, with parental approval of course, wearing cartoon printed flannel pj's. So, Jamie said, "If we ever have kids and she attempts to leave the house, I'm pulling out The Assless Pants and I'm going to drive her to school, get out of the car and walk her all the way to class while wearing them!"
She's only 2 1/2, but The Assless Pants are still waiting in the wings of cheeky glory for their moment. I really hope he doesn't have to use them.
My girls and I LOVE the Anger Easel! Before I had my own girls, I was a school counselor and I used to have an Anger Pillow in my office for the kids to punch, hit, and scream at. I tried it once with my own girls, but the Anger Pillow became a weapon to be used against an unsuspecting sister, so the pillow was decommissioned as an anger tool and was further to only be used as a…pillow.
Good luck with your Anger Easel and I hope you will post some pictures from the Anger Easel!

That is great idea. I wish I would have done that when my kids were little. One thing I did that helped not so much with disciplining, but with getting them to eat dinner was I created my "treat box." Every week when I was grocery shopping I would pick up special treats…really neat candy, cool little toys, etc, and put them in the box. Only kids that ate their dinner could get a treat from the treat box. Usually one kid would eat everything. As he/she would sit with their awesome treat, the other kids would eat their food out of jealousy! Always worked. In fact, I'm thinking of starting it back up again for my 14, 15 and 18 year olds to get them to do their chores!
Tracy-haha VERY true! That will make for quite a wal of anger. HAHAHAHAHHA!
